The Olowu of Kuta in Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State, Oba Adekunle Oyelude, has enjoined all Nigerians to supplicate for enhanced peace, security and progress of the country.
He made the call in his message to Muslims in his kingdom, the council, state and across the country as they celebrate the Eid-el Kabir, which was made available to reporters in Osogbo, the state capital.
Particularly, he felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the nation’s Armed Forces, entire residents of Kuta, home and abroad and other Muslim faithful while wishing them the guidance and blessings of Allah.
He wished all Nigerians a peaceful and pleasant celebration while counselling Muslims as they celebrate the annual festival, to remember the needy by extending love to them in all ramifications.
Besides, he advised them to be law abiding before, during and after the festival.
Stressing the significance of Eid-el-Kabir in strengthening what binds the nation together, Oba Oyelude also urged Nigerians to embrace the virtues of love, charity and sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Mohammed.
His words: “This season calls for forgiveness and love for one another and there is need for Nigerians to be united and be their brother’s keeper in spite of all odds.”
He added: “As you engage in the celebrations of the Sallah, please remember that social distancing, wearing of face masks, hand washing and all those other protocols enunciated by the NCDC must be observed”.
