The Ondo State Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Prince Oogbese has stressed the importance of security consciousness to investment growth.
A statement by the ministry’s spokesman, Bisi Agboola said he spoke at three different fora in Akure, the Ondo State capital; emphasizing the need to fasten the security network to make investment promotion yield positive results globally.
The commissioner who led his management team to the 0NDIPA office in Akure harped on the need to see security as an important vessel to drive our investment positively.
Ologbese appreciated the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for prioritising security matters to pave the way to peace and development growth.
The commissioner commended Ayedatiwa for always setting aside substantial money to fund the various security bodies in the state.
In his words, “Governor Ayedatiwa, in addition to the monthly security vote has just provided 25 functional Hillux vans to add more to the fleet of operational vehicles for the use of the security personnel.
He praised the vision of his predecessor, the departed Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN for establishing the Amotekun Corps which was later replicated by the other states in the Southwest region.
Ologbese emphasized the need to commence data-capturing exercises and provide identification cards to distinguish genuine farmers from miscreants on farmlands. He also called for the launching of the South West Security Thrust Fund to boost the operations of the security personnel.
He had earlier in the week played host to his counterpart from Ekiti state, Dr. Makanjuola Kareem where the duo robbed minds on how to achieve prime success in business investment.
Chief Executive Officer of the Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), Hon. Gbenga Badejo in his remark stressed the need to work towards ensuring that the planned Ondo State Deep Seaport becomes operational to boost investment promotion and enlarge the state revenue generation sources.
The state Commandant of the Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye attributed the level of success recorded by his team to the viable support and encouragement received from Governor Ayedatiwa
He reported that kidnapping cases have reduced since the establishment of control points at the adjoining boundary in the lmoru/Ajagba axis of Ose Local Government.
He noted that the anti-grazing law enacted by the State House of Assembly helped the Security outfit to commence prosecution of erring herdsmen and subsequently promote communal peace across the state
According to him, the plan to replicate the Dubai Business spirit will be possible when nefarious activities of miscreants are put at bay.
Acting Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Kunle Ajibade who moved the vote of thanks remarked that the essence of the ministry’s collaboration is to make Ondo state become a viable business hub worldwide
