A woman who appeared to be mentally deranged has been rescued by the wife of Okitipupa Local Government Chairman, Mrs. Mary Adesanya from the streets of Okitipupa for proper medical attention.
The challenged woman simply identified as Anuoluwapo Akinnusi and her two children (names withheld) were spotted by the chairperson along Broad Street, Okitipupa in a pathetic situation which could endanger their lives.
Mrs. Adesanya in company of her aides, quickly retrieved the two children who are about four years and six months old respectively, from the streets to the Comprehensive Health Center, Ebute, Okitipupa for immediate medical care.
The two children were later taken to Zonal Social Welfare Office, Okitipupa for further steps while their mother would be taken to the State Psychiatric Hospital, Akure for proper medical care and rehabilitation.
Investigation showed that Anuoluwapo Akinnusi was mentally stable until she met a uniform man who impregnated her against the wish of his first wife who then threatened her with charms.
All efforts made by her mother, Mrs. Hannah Akinnusi in visiting spiritual centers for solution did not yield any result as the sickness always come back to her within intervals.
Mrs. Adesanya emphasised on the importance of lives and frowned against rapists. She cautioned those in the habit of taking the advantage of the vulnerable especially teenage girls to desist before seeing the Wrath of God.
She advised that cases of insanity should not be individual but rather effort should be made in sending such to the government approved Psychiatric Hospital for care and rehabilitation.
She regretted that many had suffered and died prematurely due to ignorance and negligence.
