The newly appointed Corps Commander of the Amotekun security outfit in Osun State, Dr Adekunle Omoyele, has debunked his alleged indictment by the EndSARS panel report,

He described the allegation as frivolous, saying it was orchestrated by a faceless group of people who felt threatened because of his remarkable achievements as a police officer.

Speaking in an interview, he said he was never invited by the EndSARS panel, stressng that he has a clean record in his years in the force.

His words: “I was never in the state during the EndSARS crisis. I was in Jos in Plateau State. I don’t know where the faceless group came with that unfounded allegation against me.

“I was OC SARS for nine years and I was never found wanting .

“A responsible media organization will verify any report before rushing to the press.

“Those groups are faceless. I have a clean record in my years in the force .”

He, urged the general public to disregard unfounded allegations and join hands in assisting him to succeed in his primary assignment.

Omoyele warned those with criminal tendencies to have a rethink or be ready to face the full weight of the law.

He said he has come to ensure that people of the state sleep with their two eyes closed just as he appealed to the general public to give useful information that will help solve crime related issues in the state .

To achieve this task, the commander hinted that Amotekun operatives will work in collaboration with other sister security agencies to achieve a crime free society that everybody will be proud of .

He said the job of effective crime detection, snd control is the responsibility of all and sundry and not limited to the security agencies alone

His words ” I have come to ensure that every citizen in Osun Dtate sleeps with his or her eyes closed.

“To achieve this feat, there must be joint collaborative efforts by all security agencies in ensuring that the safety of lives and property is guaranteed.

“Under my leadership, we are going to have a new Amotekun which everybody will be proud of .

“There will be training and re-traning of my men to be able to meet the challenges of securing our immediate environment. We are going to engage our men in military and police training.

“We will train them in weaponry and also engage them on combatant training .We are going to form a tactical squad, anti- bomb section, and anti- cultism unit among others.’

On recruitment the Amotekun commander said a proposal has been sent to Governor Ademola Adeleke for approval .

He said, “We have a governor who has interest in the safety and security of his people. I believe he will give us the go ahead to recruit more men to be able to face the task of curbing crime and criminality in the state.”

He said the newly appointed chairman of Amotekun in the state, retired AIG Abass is knowledgeable in the area of secury, and his wealth of experience will help.

Omoyele vowed tonen endure that all personnel of the security outfit are civil in their conduct especially while dealing with the members of the public; and that any of its personnel found wanting would be dealt with accordingly.
