Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will make a public presentation of two new books as part of activities to mark his 88th birthday celebrations, which will hit a climax today in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The books are: “Lest we forget: Slavery, Slave Trade, Emancipation and Reparation” and “Nigeria: Past and the Future.”
The ceremony would also include a public lecture on slavery and colonisation.
The Director General, Nigerian Institute for International Affairs, Prof. Eghosa Osaghae will deliver the lecture on “Echoes of the Past, Visions of the future: reflections on slavery and colonisation and Nigeria’s journey towards a promising future.”
The celebration will include children performances, drama, dances, songs and goodwill messages with His Majesty, King Mswati III, Ngwenyama of Eswatini.
