“No One Can Defeat Me in Osun” – Adeleke Boasts

Osun State

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared that no opposition candidate stands a chance against him in the 2026 governorship election, citing his administration’s achievements and strong popularity among the people.

Speaking before the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Screening Committee in Abuja on Thursday evening, Adeleke expressed confidence that his record in office has earned him the trust and support of Osun voters for another term.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the Osun governorship election for August 8, 2026, with party primaries scheduled between November 24 and December 15, 2025.

Adeleke stressed that the PDP in Osun remains united and has delivered tangible progress across the state.

He said, “There are no internal crises in Osun. The PDP is one big, united family, and everything is moving smoothly. The people of Osun will vote for me again because I have performed excellently. I even introduced fact-checking — anyone can verify what we’ve achieved. This is a tech-driven era; just check online and see our results for yourself.”

The governor added, “I am very confident of victory. If I could defeat an incumbent before, it will be even easier now that I’m the governor. In less than two years, we have recorded unprecedented progress in Osun State. Nobody can defeat us. We’ll continue to bring more development, more projects, and more joy — working and dancing at the same time.”

Dismissing fears about the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), Adeleke maintained that he had beaten them once and would do so again.

“We are not afraid of the APC — not at all! Why should I be scared? I am too popular! Everywhere I go, people show me love. Even APC members welcome me warmly at their events. That shows the goodwill I enjoy across party lines,” he said.

Adeleke added that good performance is the best campaign strategy, saying, “During my first election, they had the so-called federal might, but we still prevailed. This time, I believe President Bola Tinubu will not want anything that could tarnish his administration’s image. My election comes just before the next presidential poll, so I expect it to be free, fair, and credible — that’s all we ask for.”
