President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on media and publicity, Femi Adesina had come under serious criticisms following an interview with Channels TV this morning.
According to Adesina, during the interview with Maupe Ogun on Sunrise daily, he spoke on Leah Sharibu, Kemi Adeosun’s alleged certificate forgery scandal amongst many other National issues.
On when Leah Sharibu, the kidnapped Dapchi girl, left behind because of her faith will be rescued, Adesina said ‘only God knows’.
Online newspaper, TheCable had released a recent photo and an audio voice recording of Sharibu, appealing to President Buhari to rescue her.
Adesina was also asked to give a time-frame for Sharibu’s rescue, but here’s what he said:
“For how much longer, I think that question can only be answered by God. I believe that God is interested in that young girl and will ensure that she is preserved.”
“I think when that clip that we have is verified, at least one will be sure that it’s her and when that is determined, we should all be glad that she is alive.
“When will she return? By the grace of God, the government is working on it and we believe she will be back.”
Nigerians are not pleased with Adesina’s response and have taken to social media to vent. Here are a few of their reactions.

Femi Adesina shouldn’t be laughing this much during an interview where he is mainly talking about a kidnapped teenager, Lean Sharibu who has been in captivity for months.

I’m still confused by the high-level negotiations that allowed Islamic terrorists to keep a Christian girl, Leah Sharibu, whilst returning all the other girls.
I pray for Leah’s safe and speedy return. My heart goes out to her and her loved ones.

We are aware of the audio in circulation concerning the unfortunate situation of our daughter, Leah Sharibu. In dealing with terrorists, nothing is too trivial.
