Nigeria: A nation of cows

The Poet's Corner

By Ben Ezeohagwu

I
Nigeria: a nation of cows,
without hows,
full of lows,
marauding herdsmen,
loot our farms,
full of arms.

II
Nigeria: a nation of cows,
without bows,
full of jows,
nefarious herdsmen,
root our barns,
full of harms.

III
Nigeria: a nation of cows,
without pows,
full of mows,
archaic herdsmen,
hoot our dams,
full of jams.

IV
Nigeria: a nation of cows,
without vows,
full of tows,
gruesome herdsmen,
fool our gams,
full of lams.

V
Nigeria: a nation of cows,
without wows,
full of yowls,
backward herdsmen,
bull our yams,
full of germs.
