By Malcolm Little Black
Live, laugh, love fully, my precious child,
For life is a gift not measured in ounce,
But in bits and flits of colourful moments,
A house of bricks tinted with lofty memories…
Should I become the plum plucked in its prime,
Or a daisy bloom harvested before her time,
In the corner of the mind sits timeless wisdom,
A pool of knowledge there to quench your thirst…
Health is superior to wealth, and in death
Becomes clearer what every man must dread.
There are much gain in the struggles and troubles of today,
Than in the empty barrels and wishes of yesterday…
My child, be brave, be strong, and be bold,
Sweat of an honest living worth an ounce of gold,
Be daring in your dealings, and in giving too,
Be sparing in misgiving, it is good for you…
Live in the present, dream of the future,
Never regret about the past, it’s an arid venture,
In the belly of each moment are hidden tips for progress,
They are like wisdom of the ages served on a platter…
Heed the dictates of mother nature, oh my child,
For the wellbeing of your soul, mind and body,
Deep in her cabin supra-wits are found,
And secrets behind the exploit of many a sage…
So live, laugh, love wholly, my precious child,
For life is like a lotus seed you’re at liberty to sow,
Cultivate it happily, joyfully and merrily,
Life well spent is life filled with purest bliss.
