Mobile courts for traffic violators take off soon in Ondo

Ondo State Government is finalizing plans to set up mobile courts for traffic offenders in the state.

The state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr. Kayode Ajulo SAN, disclosed this on Friday to reporters in Akure, the state capital.

He said the planned mobile courts  will solely handle traffic offenses and violations in the state.

Noting that the move will promote order on the state’s new road networks, Ajulo emphasised that the initiative will support to the ongoing infrastructure drive being initiated by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

He said that the initiative was being developed in collaboration with the  state’s Chief Judge to ensure justice is swiftly served.

Ajulo explained the planned mobile courts will operate flexibly throughout the state and aimed at correcting bad traffic behavior and discouraging violations, rather than just punishing offenders.

Urging all road users, including drivers, commercial riders, and pedestrians, to adopt discipline as a form of patriotism, he said that the success of the government’s investment in infrastructure depends heavily on how citizens use it.

His words,  “The mobile courts will ensure that every violation is quickly addressed, protecting the benefits of our development and ensuring the safety of our people. The rule of law must accompany every vehicle on our beautifully rebuilt roads.”

Ajulo commended Aiyedatiwa over what he described wave of physical development across the state, particularly the ongoing beautification of Akure, the state capital, pointing out that the new road intersections have raised the state capital to the desired standards.

“The stylish traffic lights and well-planned junctions as masterpieces of engineering that now rival the finest cities in the world. Governor Aiyedatiwa is not just building roads; he is creating a legacy of excellence, order, and beauty.

“These world-class intersections, featuring elegant traffic lights that combine technology with design, have transformed Akure into a capital that instills pride in every resident and visitor. This is development with character, where infrastructure meets elegance and safety meets sophistication.”

“True progress is not defined by concrete alone, but by the shared commitment of the people to follow the rules that make our space safe and peaceful. Let us align the Governor’s vision with our own dedication to order.”
