Ahead of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) mega campaign rally in Ondo City of Ondo West Local Government Area next week, the Ondo State Deputy Governor and ZLP’s candidate in the October 10 governorship election, Hon Agboola Ajayi, was on Tuesday welcomed to the City for a familarisation rally.
He was ushered in with his running mate, Engr Gboye Adegbenro, in company of the party’s leader and the immediate past Governor of the state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko; State Chairman Hon Joseph Akinlaja and many party stalwarts.
In the showy rally, from Akure Motor Park roundabout, Ondo had gone in orange with a mammoth crowd and party supporters dressed in the party’s campaign vests, neck scarfs and caps of various designs and styles.
They chanted popular songs and sandwiched governorship aspirant and his deputy in a long walk through Yaba, Idishin, Ododibo and Odotu to Town Hall to pay homage to the palace of Osemawe and paramount ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, Jilo III, and receive his royal blessings.
The Deputy Governor who was overwhelmed by a large turn out of supporters at the town hall, only waved in admiration.
His train could not get to the party secretariat where a host of other supporters waited long to sight him.
