Makinde begins one month vacation August 5

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde will begin a one-month vacation on Monday, August 5.

He made this known in a letter read by the Speaker of the Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin at its plenary held on Thursday.

The letter held that the vacation is being sought according to section 180 of the 1999 constitution (as amended).

It said the vacation will end on Friday, September 6, 2024, with the governor billed to resume on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

The letter further indicated that the state deputy governor, Mr Bayo Lawal will serve as acting governor of Oyo State while the vacation lasts.

Meanwhile, the Assembly now has a new clerk. She is Mrs. Taiwo Muraina-Akinola.

Muraina-Akinola was deputy clerk before the ratification of her appointment as clerk by the House of Assembly, on Thursday.

She takes over from Mrs Yetunde Awe who retired from service effective July 26.
