Maintaining a healthy blood pressure

Blood pressure, whether high or low, must never be brought up or down abruptly.

Also,it is very pertinent to understand that the given “normal BP reading” of 120/80 for an healthy individual is only an average reading.

I know quite a lot of people with a high BP reading, usually of around 135/85, who are healthy, and whenever an attempt is made to lower the reading they get lethargic and unwell.

Same thing goes for some people with seemingly low BP reading of around 100/70.
Overzealous doctors will attempt to bring such down, often with serious consequences.

Each person must understand his/her body make up!

If your body is okay with a slightly elevated BP (not higher than 130/90) you may be better off leaving it like that.
Also for those with slightly lower BP (not lower than 90/60),they also are probably better off leaving it like that, especially if there are no any symptoms.

A slightly higher or lower BP is best handled with dietary changes and salt restrictions for a few weeks first, before going on medications.

A lot of factors goes into what causes BP readings to rise or fall:

✓Age
✓Body weight
✓Genetic makeup
✓Diet
✓Status: pregnancy,monthly flow,etc
✓Alcoholism/Smoking

Some herbs that could help with bringing down high blood pressure:
Celery
Lemon grass
Sandpaper leaves
Garlic/Onions
Bitter leaves
Beets

Some herbs that could boost low blood pressure:
Kola nut
Bitter kola
Alligator pepper
Cayenne

On a last note, please always seek a second opinion on health issues before committing yourself to any medications or therapy.
Remember the story of the person whose tight undies gave him a headache, and his doctor told him that it was his testes that causes it.The testes were removed, only for him to later realize that the testes weren’t the problem but the tight undies.
