A stakeholder in Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, RUGIPO, Mr S. O. Ojo has counseled the Ondo State Government on how to resolve the problems plaguing the institution.

He advised the government to take a proactive action and rule with the fear of God, noting that “when the righteous rule, the people they govern rejoice.”

Speaking with The Radiance,  he specifically advised the government to promptly address the payment of the staff salaries, and reverse the suspension of union activities with their leadership.

Ojo, a former spokesman of the institution, said: “The myriad of problems plaguing RUGIPO, if not addressed once and for all, will linger for long

“Government needs a proactive action and rule justly with the fear of God. When the righteous rule the people they govern rejoice.

“Let RUGIPO rejoice: The government has started well and should place its tenure in history for completion.

“Divine intervention cannot be ruled out.ln a developed country, you do not need prayers to earn your wage.

“Our government and functionaries understand this but implementing same here becomes a problem.

“We shall all live to be remembered. What will this generation speak of you.

“You are there today and tomorrow it is another man’s time.

“The workers in RUGIPO need payment for their services. The marks “no work no pay” as a policy of sanction to those who had worked for months unpaid is unjust.

“The special adviser who appears to have been cajoled to imbibe deceptive stories that led to the illegal suspension of union activities and their leaders, receives his salaries and allowances as at when due.

“We are all human beings and also buy from the same market as RuUGIPO workers.”

Ojo said that yhe third term for this session just resumed in Ondo- state, querying, “Will parents go to schools with excuses of non payment for the resumption and basic responsibilities before them?”

His words, “Divne intervention is required as the Heart of the king is in the hands of God and blows it either side.

“RUGIPO retirees had prayed: RuUGIPO workforce had also prayed.

“The new Ag.rector has also ordered for prayers.

“I know one day, the affliction in RUGIPO will turn to affection.”
