Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has tasked the State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) chairman, Prince Biyi Poroye, to ensure that the commission delivers tangible results that directly improve the lives of the people in oil-producing communities.
He gave the charge at the reception organised by friends in Poroye’s honour of the OSOPADEC on Saturday, where he stressed the importance of effective service delivery, and visible impact in the discharge of the commission’s mandate.
Aiyedatiwa, who expressed his admiration for the chairman’s doggedness, capacity and intellectual prowess, urged him to ensure that the people in the mandate areas feel the impact of the commission in every sector.
Also, he said he is confident that the chairman will deliver, urging other board members to support him to bring development to the people of the areas.
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, lauded the governor for his developmental strides and the appointment of the new chairman.
Olabimtan also expressed his confidence that he would live up to expectation, describing him as a competent and transparent person.
Again, the chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, noted that the chairman would do wonders for the people of the mandate areas with his competence and abilities.
Reacting, Poroye appreciated the guests for turning up for the event, promising not to betray the confidence reposed in him as OSOPADEC Chairman.
Roll call at the event included the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abiola Makinde, Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ololade Gbegudu, political appointees, among other dignitaries.
