Let little fighters fight their fight (2)

Reflection for the day

By Bunmi Adebayo

*As indicated yesterday, we shall today be concluding our discussion on the need for each of us to face our businesses, while we allow others to “paddle their canoes”.*

*Your maturity starts from the moment you focus your attention on the major assignments and businesses before you.*

*What you get yourself involved in outside of your business, most of the time, could become causes of distractions and loss of focus.*

*Whosover will not allow “owners of canoes to paddle their canoes” may end up becoming accessories for every little fight around.*

*In essence, you should be focused on your engagement, while allowing others to focus on theirs.*

*In a way, a scenario between two sisters captured this discussion. Please read :*

*Luke 10: [41] “And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, _thou art careful and troubled about many things_:*”

*[42] “But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her”.*

*While Martha was busy looking for onion and tomatoes to cook for Jesus (even while Jesus was the purpose of the hospitality) Mary sat down at the feet of the Master hearing God’s words.*

*While the hospitality Officer was busy cooking, she wanted everyone else to drop whatever they were doing to come to the kitchen and help out, and Jesus Christ literally told her, “prioritize what is meant for your attention, and go for the most important thing, even as Mary has chosen”.*

*Taking a cue from the above, every debate around you should not be meant for your attention.*

*Every discussion up there should not need your participation.*

*The moment you begin to pay attention to every discussion, to every debate, to every side talk, then be ready to be invited into every little fight that emerges from such engagements and activities.*

*From the story above, nothing stops Martha from cooking for Jesus, maybe she might have emerged as the best cook of her generation. But asking Mary to abandon her pursuit of the Word to join in cooking at a time the Word of God was being taught by no less a Person but Jesus Christ Himself, will always elicit the type of correction Martha got from the One Whose food was being prepared.*

*Don’t get lost in the crowd chasing after the race of other people. Run your own race and allow others to run theirs.*

*This New Year 2026, mind your business. Pay attention to what mainly concerns you, and stop running after every needless shadow and distraction.*

Top of the day to you.
