The people of Kuta and Ikoyi communities in Ayedire Local Government of Osun State will celebrate the annual Kuta Day on Saturday, November 21, 2020.
This year’s edition of the reunion event, which is the 30th in the stream, would be mainly a Festival of Thanksgiving by the communities unto the Most High and Almighty Father for permitting the completion and commissioning last month, August 14, of the age long Osun Bridge, which links Kuta, Ikoyi and Ede communities to the outside world.
Besides, the event would revive the age-long Community Town Hall Building project, which foundation was laid over 25 years ago, plan and work towards its full completion soonest.
Already, the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude, Tegbosun the Third, popularly called Makama, has sent out an invitation to all sons and daughters of the community in and outside the country to the event.
According to the invitation, signed by the President and General Secretary of Kuta United Front, KUF, Mr. Adegboyega Adeniran and Mr. Adesoye Ajani: “On behalf of HRM, Oba Hammed Adekunle Oyelude, Tegbosun the Third, we hereby invite you to the Kuta Day 2020 in-house celebration scheduled to hold on 21st November, 2020.
“The year celebration shall be a low key in-house aimed at bringing ourselves together with the view to celebrate the goodness of God towards us as a community and to see the need to further work together with zeal to ensure that our age-long Community Town Hall Building which foundation was laid over 25 years ago is fully completed.
“While looking forward to having you in our midst, we pray that the favour of the Lord will locate you in whatever you lay your hand upon. Amen.”
Adeniran expatiated further on the celebration in an interview with The Radiance, saying: “Based on earlier decisions reached at earlier meetings, the left over on the fund realised from the bridge commissioning is being applied to continue with the Town Hall Project.
“This is at the instance of the Olowu and elders of KUF. In line with that, work has commenced; and by the Grace of the Lord, we have something to showcase that day.”
He said: “Part of the resolutions at the earlier meetings was to have Kuta Day 2020 held in the Town Hall itself, especially when it is going to be an in-house celebration.
“And the essence is to thank the Lord for what He has done for all the sons and daughters of Kuta and Ikoyi communities together to achieve the feat we achieved, especially on fund raising and in fact the massive attendance of sons and daughters and well wishers.
“To leverage on that, we have written an invitation letter to all sons and daughters to the next Kuta Day on 21st November 2020 and we are all looking forward to seeing virtually all of us at the occasion.”
Adeniran said: “On behalf of His Royal Majesty, Oba Makama Adekunle Oyelude, Tegbosun the Third, we invite all and sundry to join us on the 21st of November 2020 to celebrate the Goodness and Faithfulness of the Lord to our dear community.”
