He arrived the ministry at about 2:20 pm accompanied by a crowd of supporters who were chanting solidarity songs after the swearing-in ceremony at the presidential villa.
The ministry however shut out journalists who were at the ministry waiting for hours to report events at his assumption of office.
He was ushered into his office by the Acting Comptroller General of Immigration, Carol Adepoju Wura-Ola; and Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abubakar Audi among other officials of the ministry.
After entering his office, journalists were told by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade to excuse the venue.
