Iji celebrates with Muslims at Eid-el-Kabir, urges peace, tolerance, love

Celebration

The Director General of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support Groups in the South West, Ambassador Sola Iji, has canvassed tolerance, peace and love among all Nigerians irrespective of their religious, ethnic or other social backgrounds, or diversities, as he joins Muslims across the Country in celebrating this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

In a Sallah message signed by his Spokesman, Onibudo ‘Wole Iroaye, Iji, Nigeria’s former Envoy to Togo, urges the Muslims to “imbibe the spirit of selfless love and self sacrifice which this glorious Festival symbolises, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, who, in total submission to the Will of Allah, resolved unquestionably to sacrifice his son Ismail, before being miraculously given a ram to offer instead.”

According to the message: “Besides, Ambassador Iji calls for tolerance and respect for the socio religious and political views and opinions of one another among all Nigerians.

“He counsels that rather than being seen as sources of friction, resentment and bitterness, these diversities should be exploited positively to build our Country, Nigeria, into a true Nation-state where peace, Love, Justice and harmony will flourish for all without discrimination.

“He notes that the Beneficient and All-loving Almighty Allah has a reason, underscored by love, in creating human beings of different colours, languages, religious views and various other diversities and placing them together in the various countries of the earth to live and develop together as neighbours.

“Therefore, Iji urges all Nigerians to honour this Wise Design, and learn how to live in peace and harmony with one another as neighbours despite the diversities.

“While wishing the Muslim faithful in the Country a happy celebration, Iji prays that peace will prevail in our Fatherland especially as we move towards the 2023 General Elections.

“Happy celebration!”
