*Yes, if you get close to the wrong person, he may drag you into the valley of downfall.*
*Each time a fellow stands, and he is at the precipice of a hill or a valley, a fall may follow.*
*For your information, several people are at the precipice of something, meaning you must be very careful getting close to them.*
*There was a young man. He came close to the number one Prince in the entire kingdom. Observing what was going on, he asked the prince what was wrong with him for his seeming state of sickness for some time :*
*2 Samuel 13: [3] But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.*
*[4] And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king’s son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.*
*On hearing the reason for the seeming sickness of the prince, Jonadab went to work with his advice :*
*2 Samuel 13: [5] And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.*
*[6]So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.*
*The prince accepted the advice regardless of any other consideration. Maybe if Jonadab had not given him such a suggestion, Amnon might have gotten over his crazy infatuation for his half sister whom he later raped and disgraced out of his house.*
*Secondly, do you know it was false prophets that advised King Ahab to go to war against the king of Syria, which led to his downfall? (1 Kings 22:1-40).*
*Do you know it was the negative report of the 10 of the 12 spies that Moses sent to spy the land of Canaan that led the whole nation astray, compelling God to declare thus :*
*Num 14: [20] And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:*
*[21] But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.*
*[22]Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;*
*[23]Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:*
*It was one of the trusted advisers of Hezekiah – Shebna, that encouraged him to rebel against the King of Babylon with dire consequences following (2Kgs 18:18-37). And the list is endless, on and on like that.*
*The question is, who is the fellow close to you giving you all manners of advice? Please think twice and be careful who you listen to in your journey of life.*
Top of the day to you 👍
