The police have arrested an 18-year-old bride at the Farawa Quarters, Kano State for allegedly slitting her husband,l’s throat nine days after their wedding.
Though circumstances leading to the tragedy are yet to be unravelled, Kano State Police Command told journalists that the murderess has been arrested for an alleged culpable homicide case.
The command’s spokesman, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said in a statement that the suspect cut off the throat of her 30-year old husband with a sharp knife.
According to the statement, “Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, swiftly deployed a team of detectives to the scene.
“The victim was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
*The suspect has been apprehended and is currently in custody at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Homicide Section and will be charged in court for offence of culpable homicide.”
He added that the State Police boss cautioned that the Command will not tolerate any form of violence or criminality in the State.
