The Poet's Corner

Who is able to stand before this Holy Lord

Whose ways have always been so perfect, just and wise,

And Who laid the foundation for all through His Word,

And made for all mankind a home in Paradise?

Who could compare himself to the Lord in His Might

From Whose hands the universe takes its time and course,

And Whose battle the whole world’s kings can’t stand to fight,

And at Whose wish Heaven and Hell open their doors?

Who could compare his wisdom to the Holy One

Who with foresight had ordained Laws to order keep,

That He needs not interfere once His work was done,

And that what we sow be exactly what to reap?

Which of those who claim to love could himself compare

To the Lord Whose Grace and Love know not any bound,

That when we were dead in sin did not even spare

To send His Son through Whom life might again be found?

Whose presence could be seen and feared as that of the Lord,

Which spans the Heights above and down to Hell descends;

Whose Pow’r is always found whenever It’s implored,

And shivers down the spine of every creature sends?

How honoured then is the Lord in His Holy Will,

In Might, in Wisdom, in Love and in Presence too

Amongst the diverse creatures that His Creation fill,

Who always praise His Name in everything they do!
