HIV/AIDS support withdrawal by US won’t affect Osun – Govt

Osun State Government has assured that the state will not be adversely affected by the withdrawal of support by the US of support for people living with the dreaded HIV/AIDS.

This assurance was in a statement on Friday by the Executivey of the Osun State Agency for the Control of AIDS (OSACA), Mr. Olusegun Daramola.

It assured that necessary measures are being taken to safeguard their access to essential healthcare services as a topmost priority.

Government gave the eassurance following the announcement by the U.S. President Donald Trump of American support for Nigerians living with HIV/AIDS.

According to the statement: “We understand that the recent withdrawal of support by PEPFAR may have caused concern and uncertainty about your care and treatment. Please be assured that you are not alone. Your health and well-being remain our top priority.

“Under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the Osun State Government, in collaboration with partners, agencies, and stakeholders, is working tirelessly to bridge any gaps left by PEPFAR’s withdrawal.

“We are actively exploring all available resources to strengthen healthcare services and mobilize community support to ensure uninterrupted access to essential care.
