GSI report misleading, politically motivated – Osun APC

Osun State

By John Dike, Osogbo

Describing it as false and misleading, the All Progressives Congress, (APC), has dismissed a recent political survey report that rated the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State as more popular in the state.

Besides, the party said the report lacked any form of credibility.

A group identified as Geopolitical Survey International (GSI), had in its recent report, described PDP as a more popular and acceptable political party in the state

But in a statement issued on Saturday by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the APC described the “so-called survey” as “a shameful fabrication designed to deceive the public and please its desperate sponsors.”

It said, “It is evident that the unknown GSI is taking advantage of the gullibility of the PDP handlers in Osun by presenting politically motivated fiction as data.

“The claim that the defection of two PDP senators and five House of Representatives members would not negatively impact the PDP’s standing in the state is not only laughable but a clear insult to the intelligence of the people,” the statement said.

Olabisi added that the PDP’s structure in Osun has collapsed beyond repair, saying: “What remains of the PDP in Osun today is nothing but a hollow shell — a carcass of its former self.

“The public can see this. No amount of doctored surveys can mask that reality.”

The party questioned the legitimacy of GSI, alleging that no information about the group could be found online.

“Our investigations yielded no trace of GSI on Google or any credible platform. That tells you everything — it is a ghost organization with no identity or transparency.”

According to the APC, any genuine political survey would reflect the reality on the ground: that the APC remains the most popular and formidable political force in Osun State.

The statement also referenced reports of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s alleged failed attempt to defect to the APC, noting that such actions betray the internal rot within the PDP.
