*Another critical means of acquiring and growing our wisdom capacity is OBEDIENCE.*
*For a man who wants to attain and increase his wisdom, obedience is critical :*
*Isaiah 1: [19] “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” :*
*Obedience will open up your faculties – your mind, your intellect, your ears, your eyes and other senses to receive information that is important for your needs.*
*A fellow who constantly scoffs at directives and instructions can never increase in wisdom.*
*Another thing that can assist anyone to grow in wisdom is the degree to which a man is teachable. If a man is not teachable, how will he increase in what he should know?*
*The disciples of Jesus Christ were consistently taught by their master over a period of time, to a level that when people saw what was coming out of them discerned that they had been with Jesus:*
*Acts 4: [13] “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus”.*
*Another important factor of consideration, similar to the immediate point above is availability. You can only widen the horizon of what you know if you are available to be taught.*
*The 3 most distinguished disciples of Jesus were Peter, James and John. One thing that sets them apart from the other disciples was that they were always around Jesus Christ.*
*How much available are you around people that can increase your wisdom? The more you are available to be taught, the more you will be different from the crowd.*
*Apart from being available, apart from being teachable, you must take time to study so as to grow your wisdom. It is not enough to be taught, you must learn to study what you have been taught, so that what you know can abide in and with you :*
*2 Timothy 2: [15] “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.*
*You must be conscious of the enemies of wisdom. Water they say has no enemy. Not wisdom. Wisdom has enemies all over the place. One of them is pride. The more a man knows, the more something pushes him to be proud. Yet, God said pride is a cankerworm that destroys :*
*Proverbs 16: [18 “]Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall”.*
*Proverbs 29: [23] “A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit”.*
*Sensitivity is another thing that will help in growing your wisdom capacity. Something must be able to nudge you when you are within some spaces.*
*You must understand that wisdom is a spirit, and it hates any other rival within its space, including the presence of sensitivity. A proverb in this part of the world says “the elder who is not sensitive will have his house burnt down.” Meaning that: by the reason of sensitivity you must grow what you know.*
*Your job and duty is to ensure that these elements of life are galvanized towards enhancing the wisdom that you need for your living.*
Top of the day to you
