Osun Grassroots Media Team has reiterated its unflinching commitment to the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke as it hosted renowned legal practitioner and public interest advocate, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq., at its first official meeting of the year.
The meeting, which was the team’s fourth conference since inception, took place at Imole House, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, and drew members from across the state. Barrister Olajengbesi, an Abuja-based lawyer of high repute, is also a frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency and Convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates in Nigeria.
In reaffirming its support for Governor Adeleke’s second-term bid, the Grassroots Media Team cited the administration’s people-oriented policies, massive infrastructure renewal, improved workers’ welfare, and inclusive governance approach since assuming office in 2022.
Addressing the gathering, Barrister Olajengbesi described the Grassroots Media Team as a critical force in modern political mobilization, praising its discipline, ideological clarity, and strategic deployment of digital media in promoting the achievements of the Imole administration.
He commended the team’s consistency and resilience, noting that its members represent a new generation of political communicators driven by conviction, service, and progressive ideals rather than personal convenience.
According to him, effective grassroots communication remains indispensable to sustaining good governance, particularly in an era where public opinion is largely shaped in the digital space.
Widely respected for his fearless advocacy and commitment to social justice, Olajengbesi assured members that their sacrifices and loyalty have not gone unnoticed, adding that efforts were ongoing to strengthen their operational capacity and provide institutional support.
He further charged the team to remain focused and courageous in the face of intimidation and opposition pressure, expressing strong confidence in Governor Adeleke’s re-election based on what he described as divine backing, uncommon humility, and a demonstrably pro-people leadership style.
In a show of solidarity, the senior partner at Law Corridor pledged robust legal protection for grassroots volunteers and media operatives, assuring that additional lawyers would be mobilized to work with the party’s legal team on a pro bono basis whenever the need arises.
Also speaking at the event, the Honourable Member representing Obokun State Constituency, Hon. Adewumi Irekandu, underscored the growing influence of social media in contemporary politics.
He delivered an insightful discourse on strategic digital engagement, emphasizing its role in shaping narratives, mobilizing grassroots support, and consolidating electoral victories.
The Grassroots Media Team expressed appreciation to Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi for his presence, encouragement, and recognition of the team’s impact in promoting good governance across Osun State.
The team also announced that its next conference has been scheduled for April 2026.
