Governance is to uplift rural people – Osoba

News

A former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, on Friday, said that the essence of governance is to uplift rural dwellers and open communities for rapid socio-economic  development.

He said the essence of opening up the hinterlands and making some basic amenities  like electricity available to them during his tenure as Governor of Ogun State was not just to make life meaningful for the people, but also to discourage rural – urban drift.

The former governor spoke at the launch of Pelican Brief, a smart city estate in Massa community, one of the communities in Obafemi – Owode Local Government Area of the state,  that, has continued to enjoy steady power supply from his rural electrification project which he executed while serving  as Governor from 1999 to May 2003.

Pelican Brief, the Scion of Pelican Valley Estate, is a brain child of Babatunde Adeyemo, a renowned journalist.

Osoba, who was the Special guest of honour at the occasion, was represented by a former Federal Lawmaker, Kunle Adeyemi.

The ex-Governor commended  Adeyemo, describing him as a young entrepreneur committed to bringing development to Massa, Ogun State and Nigeria with real estate business.
