Children Education

As the world marks the 2025 Children’s Day today, the National Orientation Agency, NOA, has charged parents to give their children quality education as a solid foundation for their future.

It called on parents and guardians to prioritize the overall well-being of their children by ensuring access to quality education and personal development.

In a statement by the agency’s spokesman in Osun State, Bunmi Olasehinde, NOA’s State Director, Mr. Stephen Adebiyi, stressed the crucial role of parents in nurturing children for a better future.

He noted that raising well-rounded children goes beyond feeding and clothing them to providing sound education, skill acquisition opportunities, and emotional development, among others.

During his visits to several schools in Osogbo, the state capital, as part of activities to mark the day, the NOA Director highlighted the importance of early childhood education and the need to uphold the rights of children as enshrined in the Child’s Rights Law, which was domesticated in Osun State in 2008.

Adebiyi also appealed to non-governmental organizations and relevant government agencies to collaborate with the agency in addressing the rising issue of out-of-school children.

He stressed that tackling this challenge is essential to securing a brighter, more inclusive future for Nigeria.

His words, “Every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment,” he said.

“Education is the strongest foundation we can provide for our children to become responsible and productive citizens.”

The Children’s Day celebration, which holds annually on May 27, serves as a reminder of the commitment owed by society to its youngest members, ensuring that their rights, well-being, and potential are fully protected and supported.
