Appointment Ondo State

The Chief Executive Officer of Gallery Security Services, High Chief Bibopere Ajube has appointed a former Ondo State Correspondent of Independent Newspaper, Mr Yemi Akintomide as his Special Assistant on Media and Public Communication.

He would also function as Media/Corporate Affairs Manager for both Gallery Security Services and Bradama International Skill Works Limited, with corporate head office at Agadagba-Obon in Ese-Odo local government area of Ondo State.

Ajube commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the appointment of new service chiefs as a way of injecting fresh ideas into the nation’s security apparatus.

In a statement by Akintomide, he urged the president not to relent in efforts to improve on safety of lives and property of Nigerians anywhere they live nationwide.

The new Service Chiefs are: Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

His words: “Nigerians are happy with the new move by Mr. President to solve the spate of insecurity in many parts of the country; this action alone has rebuilt and reinforced the confidence of Nigerian people in the Buhari led Federal Government.

“The newly appointed service chiefs must hit the ground running by effectively halting the current emergency situation and redress the total collapse of our security, especially in the Northeast where insurgency by the Boko- haram terrorists is reigning supreme.

“Our leaders from the Northern parts of the country must work with the new service chiefs patriotically, wholeheartedly and with genuine love of the people to stop insurgency, kidnapping, banditry, cattle rustling, farmers/herders clashes and other crimes that had bedeviled our country for many years.”

Ajube noted that the Niger-Delta region is now the most peaceful part of Nigeria since 2009 after the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua gave the freedom agitators and restive youths amnesty, with the cooperation and strong commitment of elders and leaders in the region to the programme, advising the Northern youths and leaders to toe this peaceful path too.

Akintomide is expected to bring to bear on the new job, his over two decades of experience as a practising journalist in crime reporting, media management and public communication.

Ajube, a foremost leader of Niger-Delta agitators urged his new aide to use his wealth of experience in the media to further enhance the companies’ image and public relations.

He noted that top on the agenda of Gallery Security Services in the Year 2021 is to project the company more boldly and friendly to its operating areas of the riverine communities in the Niger-Delta region and beyond.

He said: “One of our key points in achieving the current high level of success within our mandate areas is the warmness and close relationship we have maintained over the years with the people. This singular act is working for us, and we are not going to relent on all efforts geared towards improving on the cordial relationship.

“Our waterways and creeks are now secure, safer and peaceful far more than the hinterlands  where the herdsmen and farmers clash, kidnapping and abduction are the order of the day. The success recorded so far must be credited to the proactiveness and commitment of Gallery Security personnel towards making our waterways, creeks and riverine communities peaceful, safer and crime free.”
