- Reckless driver kills three pupils in Suleja
The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has lost five prospective Corps members in a road crash on Abaji/ Kwali Expressway in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.Director-General of the Corps Brig.-Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim broke the news in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement issued by Director, Press and Public Relations Mrs Adenike Adeyemi did not say where the prospective Corps members were going when the accident happened on Wednesday.
An official said they were on their way to the orientation camp.
In Niger, a reckless driver hit three SS1 students of the Government Secondary School Field Base Suleja, killing them.
The students were walking home after school on Monday when the speeding driver ran into them, it was said.
Eight other students sustained injuries.
The driver, also injured, is being treated under police watch.
Commissioner of Education Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu described the incident as painful and tragic.
