*Today, we shall be concluding our discussion on how God can fire up our imagination with the story of Simon Peter, the son of Jonah.*
*He had just one singular encounter, and everything about his life and imagination never remained the same thereafter.*
*Please read the encounter in some details :*
*Luke 5: “[3] And he (Jesus Christ) entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.”*
*”[4]Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.”*
*[5] “And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.”*
“*[6]And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.”*
*”[7]And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.”*
“*[8] “When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.”*
“*[9] “For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:”*
*[10] “And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.”*
*From the narration above, Peter told Jesus that he had toiled all night and caught nothing.*
*Not only this, he had closed for the day and was already washing his net and be on his way home.*
*Suddenly, after preaching, Jesus directed him to launch into the deep. The same place he had previously threw his net to and caught nothing.*
*But he obeyed what Jesus said, and everything changed thereafter, even to unbelievable level :*
*Luke 5 : “[6]And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake”.*
*[7]”And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.”*
*Someone who couldn’t catch anything all night, suddenly had his boat filled up to a sinking point with just one catch.*
*EFFECTS :*
*1) The imagination of Peter was fired up that he was face to face with the awesome God through his only begotten son, with whom nothing is impossible.*
*2) The net catch also caught the attention and fired up the imagination of the business partners of Peter : James and John (vs 7).*
*3) Peter who was awe struck, was told he was going to be a fisher of men henceforth, from being fisher of fishes :*
*Luke 5: [8] “When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord”.*
*[9] “For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken”:*
*[10] “And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men”.*
*With this encounter, the imagination of Peter was re-created and fired up to the supernatural level. A new thought pattern was kindled in him for the assignment ahead. It was awesome, so much that he had to leave everything – the fishing business, family and friends, to follow Jesus in the way.*
*If I may ask, “how are you firing up your own imagination for the things ahead of you?”*
*Please be careful with your imagination, so much depends on it.*
Top of the day to you 👍
