Works and Housing Minister, Babatunde Fashola, said yesterday that the Muhammadu Buhari administration is currently executing 800 contracts covering 13,000 kilometres of roads and bridges nationwide.

He spoke during his inspection of the construction the Chanchangi Bridge in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, assuring Nigerians that before long, most of the projects would be completed to enhance security, economy and entrepreneurship.

Besides, he expressed the determination of the present administration to link all parts of the country with motorable roads and bridges.

He appealed to Nigerians to be patient as all hands are on deck to complete most projects located in each of the 36 states.

He also announced that the Federal Government would consider the takeover of the rehabilitation of the 30km Takum-Chanchangi-Road project from the Taraba State government.

The minister said that the strategic importance of the road linking Taraba with many other parts of the country necessitated the consideration by the Federal government to take over the project.

He said that the ministry is in the process of designing and costing the project before it was awarded, adding that he would seek funding for it from the President.
