The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, Prof Emmanuel Adedayo Fasakin on Wednesday urged Muslims in the Country to always be mindful of the great lessons of the Eid-el-Kabir in all their activities.

In a message commemorating the Festival with them, he urged them to be grateful to Allah for His Compassion, Mercy and Loving Kindness shown to all mankind even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The message, which he signed said: “On behalf of the entire Staff and Students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, I warmly rejoice and felicitate with our Muslim Brothers and Sisters in the Polytechnic Community and other Muslim faithful across Nigeria on this special occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir (Ileya) festivity.

“That we are alive to witness this year’s landmark event in the Islamic calendar in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic is symbolic and the more reason we should continue to be grateful to Allah for His loving Kindness and Benedictions.

“As we celebrate this festivity in low key, we should be mindful of the salient lessons taught by this important event and should always rise up to the occasion of being faithful, humble and optimistic in whatever situation we may find ourselves, while holding firmly to the dictum that ’’There is always a way where there is a will’’.

“In consonance with the mood of the moment, I call on all and sundry to abide with all safety protocols to stem the spread of COVID-19 pandemic by always keeping safe and taking responsibility.

“I congratulate you all and wish you Barka De Sallah.”
