The Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, Prof Adedayo Fasakin, on Friday greeted Christians within the Polytechnic community and across the Country, Nigeria at large on the celebration of Easter.

In a message which he signed, he said that despite the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic and an imminent gloomy economy, he said that Easter reminds Christians of the immense sacrifice, suffering and resurrection of the Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Fasakin, who spoke on behalf of the institution’s Council, Academic Board, Management, Staff and Students, said: “I heartily felicitate with the entire Christian faithful within the Polytechnic Community and Nigerians at large on this year’s Easter Celebration.

The year 2020 Easter Celebration is being observed in low-key nationwide because of the spread of  Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic which has taken the world by surprise.

Despite the current lockdown in the Country and a gloomy economy in sight, the Easter festivity still reminds us of the Sacrifices, Sufferings and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, who we adored.

In the light of the the happenings around us today, the Resurrection of Christ has become a beacon of hope  for us as a family that the current storm of Coronavirus will  pass away like any other plague, and we shall all come out of it, hale and hearty.

Let’s observe this festivity in moderation and with prayers. Above all, let us love one another  and lend helping hands to the vulnerable and the needy as espoused by Christ teachings.

Wishing you all a Happy Easter Celebration, as I admonish you to please stay at home and  stay safe.”
