The Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, has condemned an attempt to blackmail its rector, Prof Emmanuel Adedayo Fasakin, as false, unfounded, baseless and misleading.
In a statement on Friday by its spokesman, Mr Sanmi Enigbokan, which was sent to The Radiance, it deplored the information contained in an online publication to blackmail “our amiable rector.”
It said that the attention of the Management of the institution was drawn to the publication “in which an attempt was made to blackmail the name of our amiable and performing Rector, Prof. Emmanuel Fasakin, and thereby put the name of our great FEDPOLEL in disrepute.”
The statement assured the polytechnic’s community that the rector is unshaken by the false publication saying: “Let me assure you that the Rector is on top of the situation as the pieces of information contained in the said publication are false, unfounded, baseless and misleading.
“The publication is the hand work of mischief makers who are out to distract the attention of our Rector from taking our Polytechnicto greater heights. They would not succeed.
“Meanwhile, investigation is on-going and at the appropriate time you will be kept abreast of the facts of the matter.
“Please ignore this purported misinformation and keep safe as I convey the assurances of the Rector’s goodwill to you all.”
