Fedpoly Ile Oluji appoints new Registrar, Bursar, Librarian

The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, at its emergency meeting held on Friday, 28th February, 2020 has approved the appointments of  Mr Bobola Ademola Abimbola as the Registrar; Mrs Ogunbodede Rachael Olufunke, Bursar and Dr. Idiegbeyan-Ose Jerome, Polytechnic Librarian respectively.

These were contained in a statement today by the institution’s Head of Information, Protocol and Passages, Mr. Sanmi Enigbokan.

According to the statement, these appointments take effect from Wednesday, 1st April, 2020 and they are for a single tenure of five years for each appointee.

The new Registrar, Mr. Bobola Ademola Abimbola, is from Ikare in Akoko North- East Local Government Area of Ondo State. He holds a Bachelor of Education degree in English Language with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the then Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti in 1992; Master of Business Administration from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, (FUTA) in 1998, and a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics from Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom in 2013.

Currently, he is a Deputy Registrar and the Acting Director, Directorate of Establishment and Human Resources (DEHR) at FUTA. He is a member of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (MANUPA), Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM) and a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administration (FCIA), amongst others.

He once served as the Registrar of Mountain Top University, Ogun State between 2015 and 2016. He has attended several international conferences and training workshops within and outside the country; and he is happily married with children.

Mr Bobola is bringing to bear on his new job a vast wealth of experience and expertise in Higher Educational Institution and corporate governance spanning 25 years.

In the same vein, the incoming Bursar, Mrs. Ogunbodede Rachael Olufunke, hails from Owo in Ondo State and she is happily married.

She obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy from the then Ondo State Polytechnic,Owo in 1995; Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State in 2006, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from Imo State University, Owerri in 2006, and a Master of Science in Accounting from Achievers’ University, Owo in 2019.

She has equally garnered 18 years of experience and exposure as an Accountant in the Bursary Department of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo with optimum success. In addition, she has attended several training workshops in her quest for professional excellence and career progression.

She is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA) and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants. Currently, she is a Deputy Bursar in the cash office of the Bursary Department of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo.

On his own, Dr. Idiegbeyan-Ose Jerome is the Polytechnic Librarian and he is an indigene of Ewatto Town in Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State.

He is a proficient academic and has to his credit over 50 published journal articles in both local and international publications. He holds a Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from Edo State University, Ekpoma, Edo State in 1999; Master of Library and Information Science at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State in 2007 and a doctoral degree (Ph.D) in Information Resources Management from Babcock University, Ogun State in 2017.

Dr. Idiegbeyan-Ose is a member of the Nigerian Library Association and Certified Librarians of Nigeria (CLN). He has attended various conferences within and outside Nigeria, and has been on the Editorial Review Board of the Information Resources Management Journal (IRMJ) since 2014 to date.

His professional career has traversed the Library System in both the Polytechnic and the University set up. He was an erstwhile Polytechnic Librarian, Wolex Polytechnic, Iyana-Ipaja , Lagos State from 2002 to 2003, and  the Acting University Librarian of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State between 2017 and 2018.

He is currently the University Librarian of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State and he is happily married.

He will be deploying his 17 years of cognate experience and expertise in Library information Technology and Management as the new helmsman of the Polytechnic Library.

The statement added that “Management, on behalf of the Governing Council, Staff and Students of the Polytechnic Community, congratulates the new Principal Officers and wishes them a successful tenure.”
