One Alhaji Fatai Pedro has been reportedly shot dead in an attack on his son at Obada-Oko, in Ogun State.
It was learned that the deceased was violently attacked at his son’s residence at about 10:35 a.m. on Sunday.
Security sources said that a group believed to be associated with the Aye Confraternity allegedly stormed the home of Mr. Nureni Temitope Pedro, son of the deceased, in what is suspected to have been a targeted attack on the family.
According to the sources, the attackers intended to harm Nureni and other family members.
While the target of the attack, Nureni managed to escape, tragically, his father, Alhaji Fatai Pedro, was reportedly shot dead before emergency responders and medical personnel could arrive at the scene.
Authorities have launched a full-scale manhunt for the assailants. As of the time of filing this report, no arrests had been made, but investigations were ongoing.
The police have appealed to members of the public with useful information to come forward to assist in the investigation, assuring that all tips will be treated with confidentiality.
