An explosion rocked Akure the Ondo State capital, early this morning, destroying many buildings.
It occurred some metres away from Akure Airport, along Akure-Owo road in Ilu Abo town, Akure North Local Government Area of the state.
It reverberated from the scene with a loud bang at about 1 am on Saturday, that destroyed many houses and shook other buildings within a radius of about five kilometres.
Many were feared injured by the explosion which tore the expressway into two.
Security men have fenced off the area.
