Ex Nigerian envoy, Agbi, dies at 73

Professor of History, former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti and ex Nigerian Ambassador to Greece and Australia, Prof. Oluwadamilare Agbi, died on Wednesday morning after a brief illness.

Agbi, who was the Asiwaju of Akure and chairman of the Elders Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, died at 73.

According to family sources, the politician slumped in his house in Akure, the state capital, and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he later passed on.

He was a former Secretary to the Ondo State Government in the administration of the late Dr Olusegun Agagu.

He was one of the delegates at the just concluded national convention of the PDP held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at the weekend.
