Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has urged peace, moderation, and vigilance as Muslims celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr.

He felicitated with the faithful across the state on the joyous occasion marking the successful completion of the Ramadan month.

Aiyedatiwa commended the Muslim Ummah for their devotion and sacrifice during Ramadan, noting that “the holy month has once again reminded us of the enduring values of faith, discipline, sacrifice and compassion.”

Also, he urged them to sustain these virtues beyond the fasting period, stressing that “the true essence of Ramadan lies not only in its observance, but in the continuity of its lessons in our daily lives.”

While congratulating Muslims on witnessing another Eid, the Governor charged them to celebrate responsibly, saying, “as we mark this joyous occasion, I urge our people to celebrate in moderation, remain watchful, and be mindful of their environment, in the interest of personal and public safety.”

He also called on religious leaders to continue to play their vital role in fostering harmony, adding that “our clerics must continue to guide the faithful aright and consistently admonish their followers to embrace peace, tolerance and unity at all times.”

Reaffirming his commitment to the development of the state, he noted that his administration remains “resolute in its mission to build a secure, inclusive and prosperous Ondo State for all,” while urging citizens to continue to support government’s efforts through cooperation and shared responsibility.

He further encouraged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for the peace, stability and sustained progress of Ondo State and Nigeria.
