Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has been honoured with two prestigious appointments: Grand Patron of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Special Marshals in Osun State, and Pioneer Patron of Forensic Guards Nigeria and Forensic Ambassadors Africa.
The dual investiture ceremonies took place on Thursday at the Government House Banquet Hall in Osogbo.
Speaking at the event, the governor described the recognitions as both humbling and a renewed call to serve.
“Road safety is not merely a matter of policy—it is a human imperative. Behind every accident lies a grieving family and a wounded community,” he said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to reducing preventable deaths and injuries on Osun roads.
“I have seen firsthand the pain road accidents cause. As Governor, I pledge to support the FRSC and all stakeholders to save lives,” he added
Commending the dedication of FRSC officers and Special Marshals, Adeleke lauded their courage and sacrifice in maintaining road safety across the state.
“Your service is noble and deeply appreciated. As your Patron, I will champion road safety advocacy, support enforcement efforts, and promote behavioural change across our communities,” the Governor stated.
He also pledged continued investment in road infrastructure, transport regulation, and partnerships with security and emergency agencies.
The Osun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega, praised Adeleke’s leadership, noting his administration’s focus on road safety reforms and infrastructure development.
“Governor Adeleke was chosen as Patron due to his visible commitment to protecting lives and enhancing safety on our roads,” Adegboyega said.
He acknowledged that while road traffic crashes remain a national concern, the Governor’s involvement is a step towards reversing the trend in Osun State.
“We see in His Excellency a leader who not only understands the value of safety but actively prioritizes it,” he added.
Also speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of Forensic Guards Nigeria and Forensic Ambassadors Africa, Ambassador Abraham Kwaghfan, hailed Adeleke as a visionary leader and trailblazer in public service.
Kwaghfan emphasized that the governor’s appointment as the first-ever Patron of both forensic organisations underscores his commitment to security, education, and youth development.
“By honouring you today, we are also challenging you to remain a voice for safer communities and credible institutions,” Kwaghfan said.
