NDC Chairman, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson
Nigeria Democratic Congress Chairman and former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has bagged the Pillar of Nigerian Democracy Award.
Dickson, who represented Bayelsa West Senatorial District, will be honoured with the award at the Diplomatic Digest 6th Anniversary Lecture, Award and Dinner on Thursday, 30th July, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
A statement on Sunday by the Diplomatic Digest Editor and Chairman Planning Committee, 6th Anniversary Lecture, Dinner and Awards of the publication, Mr.Owolola Adebola, said “the award is in recognition of Senator Dickson’s unwavering commitment to democratic governance, constitutionalism, the rule of law, and his consistent contributions to the growth and consolidation of democracy in Nigeria.”
According to the statement, “Throughout his years in public service, he has distinguished himself as a principled statesman, advocate of justice, and champion of good governance.
“The event will bring together distinguished personalities from government, the diplomatic community, academia, the media, civil society, and the private sector to celebrate outstanding individuals whose leadership and service have positively impacted Nigeria’s democratic development.
“This honour further underscores Senator Dickson’s enduring legacy as one of the nation’s foremost defenders of democratic values.
“Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu will be Special Guest of Honour at the event.”
