Ooni and his Olori Silekunola
The Chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas and Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, has intervened in the misunderstanding between the Arole Oodua and foremost Yoruba monarch, the Ooni of lfe, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and his estranged Olorii Silekunola.
It was gathered that Oba Aladelusi held separate meetings with the Ooni in Ile-Ife and his Olori Silekunola in Akure.
Last week, the 28-year-old prophetess, in a statement posted on her verified Instagram handle @queen_silekunolanaomi_ogunwusi, announced an end to her three-year-old marriage with the Ooni.
She said it was over irreconcilable differences.
But in what appears to be a subtle reaction amid the trending controversy, Ooni on his official Facebook page (Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi – Ojaja II) advised everyone to “reach out to neighbours, especially those who haven’t had it as easy through the year”.
The Palace spokesman, Chief Moses Olafare, had said that the Ooni still loved his Olori Silekunola, and that he was packaging a special gift for her.
Since the divorce announcement was made, different Yoruba elders have reportedly also been making moves to reconcile the royal couple.
Both families have been reached out to in a bid to reconcile their differences.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Deji of Akureland, Michael Adeyeye, stated that the Deji met with the Ooni and his Olori Silekunola.
He added that the his principal personally paid a private visits to both parties and the matter was discussed and ironed out.
“The process is ongoing and all the tension has gone down,” Adeyeye assured.
