Residents across various communities in Osun State have expressed appreciation to Governor Ademola Adeleke for the distribution of bags of rice to vulnerable households as part of efforts to ease the cost of living and enhance the welfare of citizens during the festive season.
The rice distribution, carried out under the state government’s social support programme, benefited low-income families, elderly citizens, women, and other vulnerable groups across the state.
Speaking during the exercise, some beneficiaries described the gesture as timely and compassionate, noting that the intervention has helped reduce the burden of food expenses amid prevailing economic challenges.
“This rice means a lot to us, especially at this Christmas period. The governor has once again shown that he understands the needs of the people,” a beneficiary, Mrs. Funke Adebayo, said.
Officials overseeing the distribution said the initiative aligns with Governor Adeleke’s commitment to inclusive governance and people-oriented policies, stressing that the administration remains focused on improving the welfare of Osun residents.
Community leaders also lauded the government for ensuring transparency and fairness in the distribution process, urging beneficiaries to continue supporting policies that promote social wellbeing and economic relief.
The Osun State Government reaffirmed that similar interventions would continue as part of sustained efforts to cushion the effects of economic hardship and promote shared prosperity across the state.
