Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) have announced early closing hours for today to enable customers and staff prepare for tomorrow’s election.
The banks will be closing between 12 noon and 1pm today.
In an emailed note to customers, Access Bank said: “Our branches will close early on Friday, February 24, at 12 noon. This is to allow for the timely departure of customers and staff to their respective locations in preparation for the 2023 general elections scheduled for Saturday, February 25.”
The bank asked customers to use its digital channels, saying that internet banking remains accessible to customers’ convenience.
“Additionally, you can visit any of our Access close agents to conduct transactions with ease,” it said.
Likewise, First Bank informed its customers that it will be closing early today by 1pm.
The bank said: “Kindly be informed that our branches nationwide will close to customers earlier than usual on Friday, 24 February 2023, by 1pm. Please be assured that you can still bank with us through our alternative channels”.
GTBank and Wema Bank also told their customers that their branches will close by 12 noon.
Wema Bank said the move was to allow Nigeria citizens make necessary plans and preparations to fulfill their civic duties tomorrow.
GTBank and Wema Bank encouraged their customers to take advantage of their alternative channels to carry out transactions.
