Irepodun, and Olodo off Osunjela communities in Osun State have appealed to the state government to help rehabilitate the deplorable Osunjela – Owode Ede road.
Presently, the road is not motorable as it continues damaging vehicles including tricycles and cars.
Worse still, this raining season has aggravated the bad state of the road, which is now flooded, while erosion has washed away the road at many spots,
Representative of the communities, Dr. Olayinka Awofadeju, and Mr. James Olaoluwa-Aina said the construction of the road was approved in the 2025 budget by Osun State House of Assembly, but June is going to an end, and nothing has been done on the road.
Awofadeju said the communities gave their all to ensure the success of the Peoples Democratic Party in the last elections, and are preparing to repeat the same for the success of all the party’s candidates in the coming elections, starting from the Governorship election coming up 13th August, 2026.
He said, “We need work to commence on the road this year as this will motivate members of PDP and lovers of Senator Ademola Adeleke in these communities to have things to campaign with as campaign starts 11th March, 2026′.
