Atiku blames APC, FG for insecurity, unemployment

News

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has blamed the Federal Government for the spate of insecurity and unemployment among youths.

The former presidential candidate of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said unemployment is mainly why there seems to be no end to the security challenges bedeviling Nigeria.

He spoke on Thursday in Bauchi State at the commissioning of the Gombe, Maiduguri bypass 4.2km road.

He was hosted by Governor Bala Mohammed on the day, which coincided with celebration of his 75th birthday.

According to Atiku, the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) needs to emulate the leadership style of the PDP when it comes to governance.

He claimed the APC has not done enough in providing security and employment for citizens.

Commending Governor Mohammed on his infrastructural projects, Atiku said: ” I’ve been impressed by the infrastructural development in Bauchi that I have personally seen not been told”.

“This infrastructure development ranges from the road, housing, and renovation of schools. This program that you have to continue to implement is the bedrock of development. Be it educational health care delivery or any other form of development”

” Let me commend you for reducing unemployment in the state, and in the country at large, because it’s this unemployment that created the security challenges, that are currently faced in this country.

” I wish the Federal Government would copy what the PDP Governors are doing ,because in every PDP state you go you would find one project or the other taking place. I cannot recall any of such in the APC states.”

Mohammed named the Gombe, Maiduguri bypass after Atiku while congratulating him on his birthday.

He said the road would promote economic activities that will improve the livelihood of the people.
