Ataoja of Osogbo

Ex-Osun State Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Friday donated ₦20 million to support the launch of a commemorative book marking the 15th coronation anniversary of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Abidemi Oyetunji Olaonipekun, Larooye II.
The donation was announced during the official book launch ceremony, held at De-Distinguished Event Centre, Osogbo, as part of events celebrating the monarch’s milestone on the throne.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister, the Executive Director of Marine Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. Olalekan Badmus, popularly known as Omo Oloore, congratulated the Ataoja and expressed heartfelt appreciation for his leadership and contributions to the peace and development of Osogboland.
Oyetola, in his goodwill message, celebrated the Ataoja’s enduring legacy and reaffirmed his admiration for the monarch’s impactful reign.
He said, “I am happy to witness this occasion filled with joy, excitement, and celebration in honour of our father, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Abidemi Oyetunji Olaonipekun, Larooye II.
“As a token of my heartfelt wishes to the revered palace, I am donating ₦20 million to support the launch of this book, authored in celebration of Baba. I pray that Almighty Allah continues to bless our Kabiyesi with wisdom, divine guidance, and strength as he leads the great sons and daughters of Osogbo and residents of the state capital.”
The event was attended by dignitaries from across Osun State and beyond, who gathered to honour the Ataoja and celebrate his 15 years of remarkable service on the throne of his ancestors.
