The Peoples First Movement (PFM)—a coalition of traders’ unions, artisans, and civil society groups—has officially endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term, citing his outstanding performance across key sectors, particularly infrastructure development.

The endorsement came during a well-attended rally at Freedom Park, Osogbo, where thousands of Osun residents gathered to express their appreciation for what they described as Governor Adeleke’s “people-centered leadership and visible achievements.”

Speaking at the rally, Ayoade Luqman, Coordinator of the Peoples First Movement, praised the governor’s accomplishments over the past three years, noting that initial doubts about his capability have been thoroughly dispelled.

“In the beginning, people thought he could never perform, but he proved them wrong. He has delivered projects including flyovers, road dualisation, and more—all despite limited funds,” Luqman said. “We score him 100% because he has exceeded expectations. It is not wise to change a winning team.”

Luqman emphasized that the endorsement is more than symbolic; it reflects the will of the grassroots, calling on the public to support Adeleke’s second-term bid for continuity in governance.

In his response, Governor Ademola Adeleke expressed deep gratitude for the endorsement, describing it as a validation of his administration’s close relationship with the people.

“I cannot find words to express my joy and appreciation for this grand endorsement. By God and man, I accept this endorsement and vow to continue to serve you diligently and honestly,” he said.

The governor highlighted the inclusive and people-focused nature of his government, noting recent endorsements from public servants and farmers, and now the informal sector.

“Our government is truly a people’s government. We have upscaled critical sectors and attended to the needs of all categories of society. I will not betray your trust,” he assured the crowd.

Governor Adeleke also used the occasion to urge citizens to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2026 general elections.

“Your voter card is your certificate of authority to vote and be voted for. For good governance to continue, mobilize your families and communities. Let your voice be heard. Let your vote count,” he advised.

The Freedom Park endorsement rally represents yet another major milestone in Governor Adeleke’s re-election journey, reinforcing his growing popularity at the grassroots and among influential socio-political groups across Osun State
