The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State, Hon. Dr. Charles Idowu Omidiji, has thrown his weight behind recent remarks made by the National Secretary of the party and former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, during the unveiling of the Kwara State ADC Secretariat in Ilorin on Saturday, 18th October 2025.

Dr. Omidiji echoed Aregbesola’s statement that Nigerians are currently suffering as a result of the leadership failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the current administration as “completely disconnected from the realities of the people.”

He accused the ruling party of gross mismanagement of the economy, insecurity, and poor governance, which, he said, have deepened poverty, weakened national unity, and shattered the hopes of millions.

“The truth remains that Nigerians are going through the most difficult times in our recent history. From the high cost of living to the collapse of small businesses, from rising unemployment to worsening insecurity, the APC government has demonstrated gross incompetence and insensitivity to the plight of ordinary Nigerians. Ogbeni Aregbesola’s statement is not only true but timely,” Dr. Omidiji stated.

The Osun ADC Chairman emphasized that the ADC represents a new political consciousness founded on transparency, justice, and inclusiveness — a movement that prioritizes the welfare of citizens above political greed and personal enrichment.

According to him, the ADC is not just another political party but a credible platform for national rebuilding and a beacon of hope for the oppressed and marginalized.

“The time has come for Nigerians to embrace a new order — a system where leadership is about service, not self; progress, not propaganda. Under the renewed leadership of Sen. David Mark as National Chairman and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, the ADC is redefining politics as a platform for good governance and people-driven development,” he added.

Dr. Omidiji further stated that the widespread hardship being experienced across the country is a clear sign that the APC has lost its moral right to remain in power, having failed to deliver on its promises of change and progress. He therefore called on Nigerians to rally behind the ADC as the only party with a realistic, people-oriented plan to restore hope, prosperity, and peace to the nation.

“Nigerians must wake up and demand better. The ADC offers a clean break from the politics of deceit and division. Together, we can build a Nigeria that works for everyone — not just the privileged few. The 2027 elections present a golden opportunity to rescue our nation from the current hardship and misrule,” Dr. Omidiji concluded.
